The BioHacking Clinic’s DNA Testing Process

The journey begins when you submit an online request for a DNA test from The BioHacking Clinic. Once the request is processed, you’ll initially receive an online lifestyle questionnaire by email, followed by a simple digital consent form. The questionnaire collects personal and medical information required to ensure the requested test is right for you.

Your at-home test kit will be sent to you in the post which is carefully designed for ease of use.

The kit includes everything needed for sample collection, including:

• Swab tube
• 2 patient consent forms
• Instructions
• 2 ID-labels
• Biohazard bag
• Shipping courier bag

Upon receiving the test kit, patients follow the detailed instructions to collect a saliva sample. The process is quick, minimally invasive, and is designed to be performed with minimal discomfort. Once the sample is collected, it is placed in the pre-paid return envelope (along with one of the signed consent forms) and sent to the lab for processing.

Once the DNA sample has been posted it will arrive at the laboratory for analysis. Here, the sample undergoes rigorous testing to extract and sequence the DNA. The laboratory utilises advanced technology to analyse genetic markers and extract relevant data from the DNA sample. This phase ensures that the genetic information is accurately captured and prepared for interpretation.

Once the laboratory has completed its testing, the results are sent back to The BioHacking Clinic, where they are reviewed and interpreted by the team. We will then contact you by email which will have your comprehensive report detailing your personal genetic profile, including insights into health risks, genetic traits, and personalised recommendations attached. If you have taken the BIO-Nutrition DNA Test, a 60 minute Zoom or phone  consultation will also be arranged with our expert nutritionist.

With all the five tests you will receive a report and advice related to the specific test you have taken. Based on the results of the BIO-Hair DNA Test and the BIO-Skin DNA Test, you will also receive a personalised action plan to recommend a range of bespoke medicated products designed to improve the issues you are experiencing.

With the BIO-Nutrition DNA Test, your results will be interpreted by an experienced nutritionist via a 60 minute phone consultation or Zoom meeting – which is included in the cost of the kit. Test results interpretation from an industry professional is also available for the BIO-Sports DNA Test and BIO-Telomere DNA Test at an additional cost of £150.

The Sports, Nutrition and Telomere test results are designed to optimise your health and well-being. These can include personalised dietary plans that align with your genetic predispositions, specific exercise regimens suited to your physical strengths and weaknesses, and targeted interventions to manage or mitigate genetic health risks and concerns. Additionally, the results might suggest lifestyle adjustments, such as stress management techniques or sleep strategies, to enhance overall quality of life.
